Jobs and Internships

Simmons alumnae/i have access to a number of job hunting resources, starting with Handshake, Simmons' online job board. Other key resources include Alumnet with its alumnae/i directory, Beatley Library's extensive career resources, the more targeted job listings maintained by some of the graduate programs, and other Internet resources.

Handshake is the Simmons online job posting service for internships, full-time jobs, and other off-campus work opportunities. By registering and logging in you will be able to search for hundreds of active openings posted to the site. You will also be able to view upcoming career event information and RSVP, post your resume and cover letters, and much more.

To find out more, visit the Handshake info page or log in to Handshake.

One of your most effective job hunting resources is the loyal network of fellow Simmons alumnae/i. You can access the online home of Simmons alumnae/i, Alumnet, here. Once on the Alumnet site, be sure to check out and sign up for the Alumnet Directory, with its thousands of fellow alumnae/i accessible online, not only by name but by location, employer name, and more.

Also check out the Alumnae Connections page in this section.

Library Resources

The Beatley Library career resources, both print and online, are extensive. As most alumnae/i are not located near campus, they can take advantage of the extensive career resource guides that the library maintains online.

Go to the main library Career Resources page to see the entire range of resources. For job hunting, start with the Job Hunting Online guide, which has a wealth of links to job search databases for all purposes.

Academic Programs

Additional job hunting information and resources are available to you depending on which program you were in at Simmons. For alumnae of the undergraduate program, you can visit the Jobs & Internships page for undergrads.

For alumnae/i of the Simmons graduate schools and programs, visit the Graduate Students Jobs & Internships page for more information and job hunting resources for the respective graduate programs.

Other Internet Resources

In addition to the Simmons job boards and resources, there is a wealth of job listings available online at various websites. Some of these sites are aimed at both the general population, such as and Craig's List, and some are for specific populations, such as Career Rookie for entry-level jobs and industry-specific sites such as LiquidCompass for nurses, or for Greater Boston job listings.

Rather than posting jobs directly from employers, aggregators such as and search and compile lists of results from all different job banks and corporate sites, making them a convenient one-stop shop for the job seeker.
