The goal of Fit at Simmons is to provide students the opportunity to actively engage in and try a unique fitness-based activity each week. Weekly activities typically run for 45 - 60 minutes. Most are held every Thursday from 7- 8pm at the Sports Holmes Center on the Residence Campus, unless otherwise specified. Some of the exciting activities planned for the semester include a spin class, zumba, pilates, insanity workout and more. Events are free and individuals of all fitness abilities are encouraged to participate. Spring 2014 weekly events start Thursday, January 30, 2014.
Fall 2013 Weekly Events
March 6 - Spinning
Join us for some spinning! This class will be lead by Simmons student and spin instructor Kendell Trautman. Class is appropriate for all levels, even if you have never taken a spinning class before. Meets in the spin studio on the third floor of the Holmes Sports Center. A water bottle and a towel are recommended .
March 20 - Crossfit
Curious about the Crossfit craze? Come get a taste of what Crossfit is all about! This class will be lead by Simmons student and Crossfit enthusiast, Kaitlyn Emerick. All individuals are welcome. Meets in the dance studio on the first floor of the Holmes Sports Center.
March 27 - Zumba
Zumba is a fun, popular, dance-based workout that combines Latin-inspired moves and upbeat music. This class will be lead by LEAP Zumba instructor Nasha Macedo. Class is appropriate for all levels, even if you have never done a Zumba class before. Meets in the dance studio on the first floor of the Holmes Sports Center. Give it a try - you'll have such a great time, you won't' even realize you're working out!
