Ways to Volunteer

Join Simmons as an Alumnae/i Volunteer

Simmons offers many opportunities to be active as an alumnae/i volunteer – at home, on campus or out in the world.

By connecting with your Simmons classmates and friends, helping to support students and effecting change in your community, you can help advance Simmons' mission of creating strong women leaders.

Whether you want to strengthen alumnae/i relationships with Simmons, recruit new students, or plan your Class Reunion, we have a volunteer job for you!

For additional information, please contact us via email or at 800-831-4284.

Class Officer

Class officers are the lifeline of the class and are among the greatest strengths of the Alumnae/i Association and the Office of Alumnae/i Engagement. They are elected by their class members to serve as liaisons for their respective classes to the Alumnae/i Association and to the University. In this important role, they provide the spirit behind planning and boosting class participation at Reunion (both in dollars raised and in number of attendees), organizing independent class and regional events, and raising awareness of giving and planned giving programs. Class officers should try to reach and interest other classmates in activities and functions of Simmons University in order to expand its future class leadership potential.

Get more information. Class officers are elected at their class meeting held during Reunion every five years.

Reunion Volunteer

Reunions are a great opportunity to return to campus, reconnect, and reminisce with fellow alumnae and experience Simmons as it is today.

Reunion committees are formed for every class and consist of as many individuals as are willing to assist, ideally a group of 5-10. In partnership with Office of Alumnae/i Engagement staff, members of the Reunion committee are charged with planning class events at Reunion, contacting classmates to encourage attendance at Reunion and seek participation in the class gift.

To get involved, please contact Krissy Raposa, Director of Alumnae/i Engagement, via email or at 617-521-2098.

Admission Ambassadors

Alumnae/i can play a key role in encouraging qualified students to attend Simmons.

This is a volunteer opportunity for alumnae/i of all ages. Volunteers are needed to help staff college fairs, host receptions for admitted students, and conduct outreach to prospective students to share why they chose Simmons. Volunteers receive all the training and materials they need, as well as ongoing communication about student recruitment efforts.

Please complete this form to share your interest in assisting the admission office and recruiting the next generation of Simmons alumnae. We look forward to working with you!

Regional Volunteer

Regional networks and clubs provide an opportunity for alumnae/i to strengthen, enhance, and sustain connections to Simmons and each other. Today, there are many active Simmons networks and clubs around the country.

These groups are vital to fostering alumnae/i connections and increasing the visibility and reputation of Simmons University. Based on pride and mutual connections, networks and clubs run on the energy and commitment of alumnae/i volunteers.

Volunteer with the Career Education Center

As an important part of the Simmons community, alumnae/i are in a unique position to contribute to the career needs of current Simmons students. Many of you are in the working world and have much that you can offer to current students. Along with faculty, staff, employers, parents, families of students, and other constituencies, it all adds up to what we call the Simmons career learning community.

Check out the Career Education Center for several opportunities to give back to Simmons in career-related ways.
