Meet our Staff

Amanda Galban

Senior Associate Director of Financial Aid

Amanda began her career in financial aid at MCPHS University, in the summer of 2009 and served the MCP community for four years. Since joining Simmons in November 2013, she has worked as liaison to various offices around campus and currently manages compliance with federal regulations. Amanda holds a Bachelor of Arts in Japanese from Bates College in Maine and is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration at Simmons. In her spare time, Amanda enjoys pottery, gaming, going to the movies, and driving her 5-speed Mazda2 through the scenic northeast.

Maegan Wright

Associate Director of Financial Aid

Maegan entered financial aid in 2005 at Berklee College of Music after leaving the non-profit world. Seeking newer challenges, she left Berklee to work at as the Associate Director at Fisher College and now has joined the Simmons community in this same role.  Working on expanding her knowledge of all things financial aid, she managed to earn a MA degree in Higher Education Administration from Northeastern University. Maegan also holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration from the Art Institute of Boston.  If not working, she can be found assembling the world’s largest arts supply closet, creating, cooking, reading, and enjoying time with friends, family, and her sweet quadruped companions.

Stephen Pusateri

Assistant Director of Financial Aid

Steve started his financial aid career at South University as a Finance Counselor in 2010. After three years, he transitioned into the role of Compliance Specialist overseeing student-facing employees in admissions, financial aid, and academics for South and its two online sister schools. He relocated to Boston and began working with Simmons College at the end of 2016. He graduated magna cum laude from The University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor's Degree in English Literature and is currently working on his MFA in the Children's Literature Program here at Simmons. Outside of work, Steve enjoys reading, writing, watching Studio Ghibli movies, hiking, and listening to rocksteady music.

Sarah McCord

Assistant Director of Financial Aid

Sarah worked at the University of Washington, Seattle and Boston University prior to coming to Simmons in March 2017. Her previous positions allowed her to gain experience in various aspects of financial aid and to work with different student populations. A native of Massachusetts, Sarah earned both her bachelor's degree in American Studies and her master's degree in Higher Education Administration from BU. For leisure activities, Sarah enjoys planning her next adventure, savoring Boston's great restaurant scene, reading, exploring the outdoors, and hanging out with family, friends, and her cat.

Becky Anderson

Financial Aid Counselor

Becky has worked at schools throughout Massachusetts prior to starting at Simmons in July 2017. Becky holds a B.A. in Broadcast and Print Media from Rivier College, and a M.Ed. in Administration of Higher Education from Suffolk University. Born and bred in Rhode Island, Becky was a first generation college student who struggled with the financial aid process. This experience led her to work in Financial Aid in the effort to assist students in finding their way toward higher education. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time near the ocean, sustainable paper crafting, and Bikram yoga.

Sophanna Pen

Financial Aid Counselor

Sophanna’s family were refugees from Cambodia who fled the genocide and Khmer Rouge. They relocated to the U.S. while she was still an infant and finally settled in Lynn, Massachusetts. She is the first in her family to attend college, earning her Bachelor’s in Business Administration with a concentration in Management from Salem State University. As a first-generation college student, she understands firsthand the challenges students may face in their pursuit of higher education. Sophanna has served a diverse student population, previously while working in Student Financial Services at North Shore Community College and now, here, at Simmons College since August 2017. She’s a big fan of the New England Patriots and the Boston Celtics. Aside from sports, she enjoys reading Blake Pierce’s mystery series and cake decorating.

Brian Eiermann

Financial Aid Counselor

Brian joined the Financial Aid team at Simmons College in January 2018 after working as a nonprofit college admissions and financial aid counselor for high school students in Boston. Originally from New Jersey, Brian attended the University of Delaware, where they received a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations and Women and Gender Studies. Through their nonprofit career and their own experiences navigating the financial aid process during college, Brian has developed a nuanced understanding of and passion for assisting students in making informed and sustainable financial decisions during their educational careers. In their spare time, you can find Brian performing around Boston with their a cappella group, attending comedy shows, and practicing Vipassana meditation.
