About Me

Nancy received her MSW from Simmons School of Social Work in 1987. She subsequently began a career of working in health care for over 25 years within a variety of departments at Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital in Jamaica Plain Ma, including the Psychiatric Partial Program and Inpatient Psychiatry. She ultimately focused most of her clinical work on performing psychosocial assessments and providing emotional support and crisis intervention to a wide range of diverse patients and families in Medicine/Surgery/and the ICU, as well as the Emergency Department. A significant part of her role in the hospital focused on providing clinical supervision to (primarily Simmons) MSW interns. Nancy also served as a member of the Ethics Committee at BWFH for many years.

Nancy eventually followed her passion for working with and mentoring MSW interns by returning to Simmons SSW as a Field Liaison/Advisor in the Field Department, and currently serves as an Assistant Director of Field Education. Nancy coordinates field placements for students in the Health Care Certificate, collaborates with community partners as a member of the Health Care Colloquium, and teaches the Seminar in Field Instruction for new supervisors/field instructors in the field. Nancy serves as a member of the Editorial Staff of the Field Educator, has participated in the Promising Pals mentoring/literacy program at the James P. Timilty Middle School in Roxbury, MA and when time allows, volunteers for Steps to Success in Brookline, MA. Nancy also continues to maintain a small private practice in Brookline.
