When not lecturing for at Simmons, I am a research fellow at Boston Children's Hospital where I research gene regulation in Group A Streptococcus. Specifically, I look at the CsrRS two-component system and how it responds to host factors during infection. Additionally, I teach microbiology online for the University of New England, and volunteer once a week at the Museum of Science. At the Museum of Science I work in the hands on lab helping members of the public realize that science is an approachable subject for anybody and encouraging exploration and inquiry-based learning.
