About Me

Erin Daly holds a Bachelor’s in Literature from Bard College and a Master’s in Library and Information Science from Simmons University. She took most of her graduate courses at the SLIS West campus, where she is now teaching LIS 483: Collections and Materials for Young Adults. In addition to being part-time faculty, she works full-time as the Youth Services Coordinator at the Chicopee Public Library.

Her professional interests include literature for children and young adults, readers advisory, and library outreach to youth. She is particularly fond of the times when children come to the library after a school visit and proclaim, wide-eyed, “You came to my school!”

She is a member of YALSA, the Massachusetts Library Association’s Youth Services Section and the Children and Teens of Western Mass (ChaTS) roundtable.

Daly lives in Granby with her husband, Jeff, who is also a librarian. Between the two of them, they need more bookshelves.
