About Me

Eric Poulin, Lecturer at SLIS, was hired as Coordinator of SLIS West in Spring 2017. Poulin holds a bachelor's in communication studies from the University of Massachusetts and a master's in library and information science from the University of Rhode Island. Prior to his full time appointment at Simmons, Poulin was the coordinator of library services at Greenfield Community College.

His professional interests include information literacy instruction, planning, and assessment, as well as advocating on behalf of small rural libraries. He has been very active in many statewide and regional organizations, having served as president of the Massachusetts Library Association, Western Massachusetts Regional Library System and the Western Massachusetts Library Advocates. He was also an original member of the executive board of the Massachusetts Library System and is a current executive board member of the Public Library Association of Easthampton.

Poulin is a lifelong resident of Easthampton, where he lives with his wife, Gabriela; their dog, Monte; and their cats, Ronin and Elsie. His personal interests include being a struggling songwriter, watching English football, playing tennis, and completing his third marathon when his bad foot finally heals.
