Women's Leadership and Development

Committed to Empowerment

For more than a century, Simmons has been preparing women to lead change that impacts families, communities and the world.

Our focus on women's empowerment began over 100 years ago with our founder John Simmons' revolutionary idea — that women should be able to earn independent livelihoods and lead meaningful lives.

Since 1899, Simmons University has offered a pioneering liberal arts education for undergraduate women integrated with professional work experience. Today we also offer a wide range of graduate programs, including an MBA designed specifically for women.
