Sarah L. Leonard is Associate Professor of History at Simmons University. She specializes in German cultural history. Her book Fragile Minds and Vulnerable Souls: The Matter of Obscenity in Nineteenth-Century Germany was published in 2015 by University of Pennsylvania Press. She is currently working on two projects: the first on the role of German Jews in early photography; the second on early photography and the history of emotions.
