Brazil: Resources on Information and Telecommunications:

The following is a general list of major resources on Brazil its information and telecommunications sector. This set of resources is intended to introduce you to some areas of research on IT, Library and Information Science, and Information Policy. The first set is comprised of major statistics, social and demographic information, including a country study on Brazil done by the US Library of Congress. The second group is composed of information regarding the education sector and its major institutions. The third area involves IT and a couple of really important initiatives on Internet, information and development. Pay particular attention to the Information Society Program (n.11) and the IBICT. The last fourth group is devoted to some major journals and magazines that promote research in the area of library and information science.  The fifth area is composed of resources intended to offer you a general understanding of the legislative structure of the country. It would be very difficult to get a clear idea of the way information policy works without having a clear knowledge of the way government and institutions function.
