Thinking about transferring into the Simmons Nursing Program? You're not alone! Each year, we admit transfer students into our nursing program; some have completed their nursing prerequisites at another institution, and some complete their nursing prerequisites at Simmons before beginning the nursing sequence, which begins each fall.
In order to begin the nursing sequence, students must complete the prerequisite courses. Students are encouraged to consider taking these classes at Simmons and may do so in fall, spring, and/or summer terms. Prerequisites 1-4 below must be completed by July 1st prior to the start of the nursing sequence in September. Prerequisites 5-8 below are also considered when an application is reviewed; however, a student can begin the nursing sequence without having completed them.
*General biology requirement waived when students transfer microbiology, A&P 1 and 2 prerequisites.
You may request a transfer credit evaluation (TCE) at any point in the application process to help with your planning. Evaluations usually take several weeks to complete and will be returned to you by email. Learn more about the TCE process or submit a TCE request electronically »
To better assist you in your search, we invite you to visit Simmons to learn more about our programs and tour the campus. We offer tours Monday - Friday, as well as some select Saturdays. You are also welcome to observe a class, meet with a faculty member or current student, or complete your college interview during your visit.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact our Campus Visit Coordinator at (617) 521-2051. We look forward to having you on campus!
