Dotson Bridge and Mentoring Program Contributes to Nursing Success
The Dotson Bridge and Mentoring Program was started in 2008 with a $2 million gift from Phyllis Nickerson Dotson '62, and her husband, George S. Dotson. This year, their additional $2 million pledge will continue the impact of the program. The program provides mentoring and support to multicultural students studying nursing. The NCLEX-RN licensing exam pass rate among program-eligible students has increased to 94 percent since the program's inception.

First Class Entered the Bachelor's of Social Work Program in Fall 2012
The new Bachelor's of Social Work program is currently accepting Dix Scholars with first-year and sophomore standing. We are pleased to announce that it will be open to students with an Associate's degree or junior standing starting in the Fall 2013 semester! Simmons was proud to launch an undergraduate social work program last year. The new program will provide students with the opportunity to build the knowledge, values, and skills needed to become competent, ethical social work practitioners.
