After graduation in Hispanic Literatures from Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, Tulio Campos came to Boston to pursue his doctoral studies at Boston University. His primary field of study is Latin American and Spanish poetry with a focus on the historical avant-garde of the first quarter of the twentieth century.
In the United States, he expanded his teaching experience, originally in the field of creative writing and literature, to the instruction of Spanish as a foreign language. Having taught Spanish classes in Boston University and Washington University in Saint Louis, Tulio became an instructor at Simmons in 2005. He served as the coordinator of Intermediate Spanish 201 for two years. He currently teaches full-time and coordinates the Introductory Spanish courses 101 and 102.
