Japanese Civilization

4 sem. hrs. Studies Japanese culture and tradition through texts, videos, slides, and films. Covers topics including the impact of Chinese civilization via Korea on Japanese society, the integration of Buddhism and the homegrown religion of Shintoism, and the Japanese people's disdain for and distrust of westerners.
