Bio

Dr. Zaiats is an Assistant Professor of Finance at Simmons School of Management. She earned her Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, a M.A. in International Finance and English Interpretation from Franko National University of Lviv and a B.A. in Economics from Hartwick College. Dr. Zaiats' current research focuses on corporate governance, executive compensation, and international finance. Her dissertation focused on agency conflicts and effects of regulations on corporate governance and won the 2007 Sheldon B. Lubar Doctoral Scholarship, a reward of an outstanding research performance in the Ph.D. program.

Dr. Zaiats' teaching interests include corporate finance, investments, financial institutions, capital markets, international finance, and microeconomics. Dr. Zaiats is a three times winner of the GoldStar Teaching Award at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, awarded for her strong teaching records.
