Masato Aoki teaches courses in money & banking, political economy, the Japanese economy, and economic principles. Aoki teaches sections of the College's core course in multiculturalism and writing, "Culture Matters," which he helped develop. He also helped develop the East Asian Studies major. His primary research interests are in the economics of class, the political economy of education, and the Japanese economy. Professor Aoki served as the Director of Academic Advising at Simmons, and he is formerly an editorial board member of Rethinking Marxism, a quarterly journal on economics, culture and society.
