Co-authored by Simmons Communications professor Dr. Marlene Fine and her spouse Dr. Fern Johnson, Professor of English at Clark University, The Interracial Adoption Option explores the joys and endeavors associated with creating an interracial family through adoption.
Fine and Johnson became the adoptive parents of two African American boys in the late 1980s and, in Fine's words, "decided that we'd like to write a book about our experiences [and] share it with others so that they might have a better foundation" when considering the decision to pursue interracial adoption.
Taylor Rapalyea of The Simmons Voice recently sat down with Dr. Fine to discuss the book, which was published this August.
