Mary
Hart exhibits her paintings and monoprints of the female form Nov. 6 to
Dec. 8 at the Simmons College Trustman Art Gallery, fourth floor Simmons
Main Campus Building, 300 The Fenway. A reception from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Nov. 9 will include a gallery talk at 5 p.m. The exhibit is free and open
to the public.
"Ephemeral" is the first solo Boston exhibition since 1989 of
Harts work. The exhibit includes recent paintings and monoprints
concerned with the female form and its relationship to insects, seeds,
and decay. The delicate, transient quality of Harts small-scale
images alludes to ideas connected to germination and lifecycles.
Hart, from Portland, ME, employs the process of Xerox lithography, which
is used to transfer imagery from sketchbooks and actual objects. She is
a member of the Peregrine Press Printmaking Cooperative and has actively
exhibited throughout New England.
Exhibit hours are from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The
gallery is closed on Nov. 10 and from Nov. 22 to Nov. 24. The gallery
is wheelchair accessible. For more information, contact Christine Kromer
at 617-521-2268 .
