The Trustman Art Gallery is pleased to present the first solo exhibition in 10 years of Boston artist Laura Chasman.

Chasman's gouache portraits express the unique qualities of the people who have entered her life. Friends, family and acquaintances of all ages and cultural backgrounds are represented in these paintings. With a keen sense of observation, somewhat related to the painter Alice Neel, Chasman reaches beyond a simple narrative description of her subject. This Trustman exhibition offers a comprehensive view of Chasman's small-scale portrait paintings, which with wit and humor, sensitively communicate some insight into the lives of the people with whom she has formed relationships.
