Wineberg's multi-layered oil-stick and ink wash paintings on wood and the mixed media paper images derived from natural sources have themes which reflect on the portrayal of time through seasonal growth and stages of decay. These images fluctuate between abtraction and representation but retain their unity by the consistent use of a diverse range of plant sources, collage techniques and structural devices. Ellen Wineberg's last Boston solo exhibition was at the Randall Beck Gallery in 1995.
