Welcome!

Congratulations on your decision to attend Simmons College! We are excited that you are joining the Simmons Community and look forward to seeing you on campus. For students starting in the Fall Semester, there are two different orientations: one held in June and one in the fall that begins a few days prior to the start of the academic year. We strongly encourage you take advantage of attending both of these to get the most out of your experience transitioning to college and Simmons.

Summer Orientation: Students and Families

During Summer Orientation, you will have the opportunity to meet other new students, create your academic schedule, learn about co-curricular opportunities at Simmons and begin to explore the city of Boston. The Summer Orientation dates for 2017 are listed below.

You will need to register for one of the following:

  • First-years choose between two overnights: June 22nd-23rd -or- June 24th-June 25th, 2017.
  • Dix Scholars Orientation will be held on June 22nd, 2017.
  • Transfer Students choose between a one-day session on June 22nd, 2017 -or- the overnight  on June 24th-June 25th, 2017.
  • View last year's Summer Orientation schedule.
  • Parents and Families may attend a one-day session on June 22nd or June 24th, 2017
  • Orientation and Housing Check-in is between 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. on Thursday and Saturday morning.

Overview: Open Office Hours (Admissions, Student Affairs, Registrar and Disability Services), Health Center Appointments and Competency Test is between 8:00 a.m and 10:30 a.m. on Thursday and Saturday morning.

Student Opportunities: Student Employment Information, Meet and Greet Greets for First Generation, ALANA, LGBTQIA Students, Global Education, Academic Panels, Student Services Panel ( Public Safety, Dining Services, Disability Services, Counseling, Office of Student Leadership, Health Center and Colleges of the Fenway, Group Outings and Fenway Tours.

Parents and Family Opportunities:  Support Services at Simmons with Residence Life, Violence Prevention & Educational Outreach and Public Safety, Lunch with Families, A Primer to Title IX, What to Expect When You're Expecting a College Student: Health Services, Disability Services and Counseling Center and Family Reception.

Register for Summer Orientation

Fall Orientation

Fall Orientation is for all first year and transfer students—whether they live on campus or not. Students are expected to attend the Orientation events on each day of Fall Orientation. Students will have an opportunity to attend other planned activities through the first week of classes, including Connections Carnival: the Student Involvement Fair. You'll get to share ideas with new and current students, meet faculty and administrators who will help ensure your success, and truly discover the spirit of Simmons through its people and community.

Fall Orientation 2017 will be held September 2nd through September 6th and begins with Move-in Day on the 2nd. You do not need to register for Fall Orientation - all students are expected to attend.
