Get Your Campus Card

The Campus Card Office, located on first floor in the Palace Road Building (Room P-107), issues the Simmons ID card, known as a Fenway Card. You may visit the office during business hours to obtain a Fenway Card. There is no charge for your first Fenway Card but if you need to replace a lost or stolen card, there is a $10 replacement fee.

Students

All Simmons College students can obtain their official Simmons ID Card from the Campus Card Office located in the first floor of the Palace Road Building (P-107). Once you are registered at Simmons, your ID card is an important part of your Simmons experience. You will be able to access buildings with the card, and pay for food in the cafeteria or campus coffee shop (depending on which meal plan you utilize). If you are a part of the Nursing@Simmons or SocialWork@Simmons fully online FNP program, please visit the Simmons Online program page for specific information about obtaining your Simmons ID card. 

All students can submit their photo online prior to coming to campus and have the ID ready for pick up when you arrive on campus. 

To receive an ID card that reflects a first name other than your legal first name, visit the Registrar’s page for instructions to update the first name in your student record. 

 There is no charge for your first Simmons Campus Card but if you need to replace a lost or stolen card, there is a $10 replacement fee. To receive your ID card, you are required to bring your Simmons ID Number and one of the following forms of identification to our office:

  • Driver's license
  • State ID
  • US or foreign passport
  • Military ID
  • INS I-1551 resident alien card

Validating your ID

Each semester for students, a new validation sticker will be available for pickup in Student Financial Services or the Campus Card Office after you have cleared your account with Student Financial Services. Affix this sticker to the back of your ID card to validate your card for the coming academic period. Cards without current validation stickers may not be honored at the Sports Center, the Library, allowed to purchase a Semester Parking Pass, or other services.

Online Students

Simmons College offers a number of online programs, including Nursing@Simmons programs and the SocialWork@Simmons MSW program. If you are not in one of these fully online programs, please visit the students page to find information about obtaining your Simmons ID Card. 

If you are a student in one of these fully online programs submit your photo online to obtain your Simmons ID card.

Verification

The first step in obtaining your Simmons ID is verify your identification by sending or emailing the Campus Card Office a copy of a government issued photo ID which will be kept on file at Simmons College. Acceptable forms of identification include:

  • Driver's license
  • State ID
  • US or foreign passport
  • Military ID
  • INS I-1551 resident alien card

Once you have mailed your ID copy to the Campus Card Office then you can submit a photo online to have your ID printed (instructions below).

Submitting a Photo Online

Photo Requirements

In order to have your Simmons ID card printed, you will be requested to electronically submit a color passport-sized photo.

headPlease make sure that your photo adheres to the following requirements:

  • Must have a white smooth background - no other people or objects in photo.
  • Must be in color (black and white photos will not be accepted.)
  • Sufficient lighting with no shadows.
  • Must be a full front view of your head and shoulders only with face filling at least 80% of frame.
  • Cropped from just above the top of head to collarbone.
  • Do not retouch or otherwise enhance or soften photo.
  • You must be looking straight at the camera (No side profiles).
  • No hats or sunglasses.
  • This picture is for identification purposes. The picture must clearly identify you as a person.
  • The file must be in jpg or jpeg format. Other formats will not be accepted.
  • File size cannot exceed 2MB.

To assist with making your photo meet the ID card photo requirements, you can use any photo editing software. If you do not have one here are some free on-line photo editing tools which you can use without downloading:

Review and Approval Process

This photo will be your Simmons ID card picture throughout your Simmons College online program. Please keep this in mind when selecting your photo. Photos that do not meet the guidelines set forth above will be rejected. Photo submissions are manually reviewed before any IDs are printed. If your photo cannot be used we will ask you to resubmit your photo.

Mailing

The Campus Card Office will verify your identification using the copy of your government issued photo ID, which you will have already sent to Simmons prior to requesting your Simmons ID. Please see the "Verification" section above for more details. Upon verification, your Simmons ID card will be printed and sent to your mailing address. Please remember the Campus Card Office must receive a copy of your photo ID before we can issue your Simmons ID.

Faculty and Staff

All Simmons College faculty/staff should obtain the document issued by the Talent and Human Capital Strategy office (Main College Building Room C-210 ) confirming that his/her personal data has been entered into the Personnel System. Faculty/staff should bring that document to the Campus Card Office in the first floor of the Palace Road Building (P-107) to obtain an ID card.There is no charge for your first Simmons Campus Card but if you need to replace a lost or stolen card, there is a $10 replacement fee.To receive your ID card, you are required to bring one of the following forms of identification to our office:

  • Driver's license
  • State ID
  • US or foreign passport
  • Military ID
  • INS I-1551 resident alien card
Annual Stickers for Employee ID Cards: No Longer Needed After thorough review, we have concluded that the annual stickers affixed to the back of faculty and staff ID cards are no longer needed. In recent years, these stickers have been optional for faculty and staff. As a result of advances in technology, the stickers are not needed for your ID card to be valid at any on-campus or off-campus locations and therefore it is no longer necessary to provide them. You may remove the most recent sticker from the back of your card at any time.

Non Simmons Affiliates

Non-Simmons affiliates that are on campus on a regular basis are required to have an ID issued by Simmons, which must be visible at all times while on campus. In order to obtain your Simmons Campus Card, you will need the sponsorship of a Simmons department.Please use the following procedure to obtain your Simmons Campus Card:

  • Step 1.-Bring a completed Simmons Campus Card Request Form, along with a valid form of government issued ID to the ;Talent and Human Capital Strategy office (Main College Building Room C-210 ).
  • Step 2.-The Talent and Human Capital Strategy office will enter your information into the Personnel System and after that you will need to bring the completed Simmons Campus Card Request Form, along with a valid form of government issued ID to the Campus Card Office.
  • Step 3.-You will be issued a Simmons Campus Card good until the date specified on the Simmons Campus Card Request Form.
