<h3>Elder Services Coordinator</h3>

<p><strong>Hiring Company:</strong> Little Brothers-Friends of the Elderly<br />

</p>

<h4>Job Description</h4>
<P>To assess elderly for all Little Brothers-Friends of the Elderly programs; to coordinate and monitor the participation of elders in the various programs; and to advocate with external agencies on behalf of the elders, when necessary. </P>
<P>Major Duties:</P>
<P>1.&nbsp;Visit elderly:&nbsp; to perform intakes of new referrals, and to make assessments as to appropriate placement in LBFE programs, and visit unmatched elders.</P>
<P>2.&nbsp;Work with the Volunteer Coordinator to match elders with volunteers and monitor progress of the relationships.</P>
<P>3.&nbsp;Invite elders to participate in holiday programs and social events, coordinate responses, and report to Assistant Director on needs for these events.</P>
<P>4.&nbsp;Plan with Assistant Director and the Volunteer Coordinator the coordination of all program events.</P>
<P>5.&nbsp;Monitor elders’ participation in all programs.</P>
<P>6.&nbsp;Act a liaison with other elder service agencies, hospitals, etc.</P>
<P>7.&nbsp;Work as advocate, as needed, for our elderly friends to assure access to appropriate elder services.</P>
<P>8.&nbsp;Work with the Volunteer Coordinator in the recruitment, interviewing, placement and &nbsp;evaluation of work study, coop, field study and student interns.</P>
<P>9.&nbsp;Work closely with staff in all matters relating to program, volunteers, elderly, development, &nbsp;office procedures, etc. as needed.</P>
<P>10.&nbsp;Work all major holidays.&nbsp; We provide visits and meals to 400-500 elders on Thanksgiving, &nbsp;Christmas, and Easter/Passover.</P>
<P>11.&nbsp;Maintain files on all elders in programs and compile statistics in timely fashion.</P>

It is the largest pediatric medical center in the United States and is the primary pediatric teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School (HMS). In addition to providing comprehensive health care to children in our inpatient and outpatient facilities, many of our full-time physicians hold faculty appointments at HMS. </P>
<P>The Children’s Hospital Emergency Psychiatry Service is seeking applicants with an interest in mental health/psychiatry/social work for the position of Resource Specialist. The Resource Specialist works as part of a multidisciplinary team to assist patients in psychiatric crisis and their families.&nbsp; S/he is responsible for gathering initial information from families and assisting clinicians during the emergency evaluation process.&nbsp; The Resource Specialist will become familiar with psychiatric services both inside and outside the hospital, and will work in conjunction with the clinical staff to help connect families to appropriate care.&nbsp; Opportunities are also available for involvement in ongoing research projects.&nbsp; Bilingual/bicultural applicants encouraged to apply.</P>
<P>This is a permanent benefited position.&nbsp; It is ideal for a recent graduate who is interested in eventually pursuing an advanced degree in a mental health field.&nbsp;&nbsp;This position requires a 2 year commitment.</P>

<P>Responsible for assisting women, made homeless by domestic violence, secure permanent housing, and providing post-shelter stabilization services to assist with maintaining stability after placement. The Housing Specialist will assess the housing needs of program participants, collaborating with agency staff and Residential-based organizations to assist them in achieving the goal of finding safe, affordable, permanent housing. </P>
<P>This position is an exempt position and reports to the Director of Residential Services. </P>


<h4>Requirements/Qualifications</h4>
<P>• Bachelor degree in Human Services, Public Policy, Social Work or Counseling preferred, or three years experience in Residential-based housing programs. <BR>• Knowledge of government and Community-based housing programs and social service agencies. <BR>• Bilingual fluency in Spanish preferred. <BR>• A minimum of two years of case management experience. <BR>• Familiarity with issues of domestic violence and its impact on families. <BR>• Previous experience working in a residential program a plus. <BR>• Ability to work with culturally diverse populations. <BR>• Ability to work collaboratively. <BR>• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. <BR>• Excellent time management and organizational skills <BR>• Ability to develop and maintain resources in the Community. <BR>• Creative problem solving skills. <BR>• Valid Massachusetts driver’s license and dependable automobile required. <BR>• Flexible schedule; some evenings and weekends required. </P>
