<h4>Job Description</h4>
<P>The Community Day Center of Waltham (CDCW) is seeking an Executive Director. This is a 30-hour a week position, with the potential to expand to 40 hours given sufficient funding.</P>
<P>The (CDCW) opened in 2003 as a drop-in daytime shelter with a welcoming atmosphere.&nbsp; We assist homeless and very poor adults in Greater Boston/Metro West in increasing their self-esteem and moving towards self sufficiency. On a typical winter day sixty guests spend time at the Center. While most guests are white males, roughly 25% are Hispanic, 12% are women, and 5% are African-American. Most are homeless, although a many are mentally disabled, living in local group homes or subsidized housing. <BR>Above all else, the Day Center is a community. Guests often describe the Center as the only place they go where they are welcomed rather than tolerated, appreciated rather than begrudged.&nbsp; CDCW guests have access to telephones with free long distance, anonymous answering machines, a high-speed internet café, and use of an anonymous P.O. Box.&nbsp; With these resources, which are otherwise unavailable to them, they search for jobs, arrange housing and shelter, access community resources, and maintain tenuous family ties.&nbsp; Staff provide vital information on available social services in Waltham and beyond to our guests. Our staff and trained interns offer crisis counseling and traditional counseling to those in need.&nbsp; Other volunteers help guests write resumes, locate resources on the internet and find available jobs and housing.&nbsp; </P>
<P>The CDCW Board seeks a dynamic Director who will support, maintain and possibly expand the Day Center’s programming while expanding fundraising, volunteer participation and the Day Center’s visibility in Waltham and surrounding communities.&nbsp; The Director is responsible for daily operations of this center (open weekdays from 1:30 – 4:30), including supervision of 1 part time employee and many volunteers, coordination with landlord (we are located in a church), social service provision, regular interaction and caring for all guests, and oversight of set-up and clean-up.&nbsp; The Director is also responsible for fundraising and financial management for the organization, in collaboration with the Board of Directors.&nbsp; The CDCW Director is also an active participant in Waltham community efforts to the extent they relate to the organization<BR></P>


<h4>Requirements/Qualifications</h4>
<P>• Passion for social justice and belief in individuals’ capacity for growth <BR>• Minimum 2 years management or supervisory experience in non-profit field <BR>• Experience in direct social service, community organizing and/or counseling <BR>• Demonstrated fundraising experience<BR>• Excellent public relations skills<BR>• Basic budgeting and financial management experience<BR>• Experience working with homeless or mentally ill populations strongly preferred. <BR>• Bilingual in Spanish a plus<BR></P>

<P>Community Legal Services And Counseling Center (CLSACC) is a small, dynamic community-based agency that provides affordable mental health counseling and free legal services for low-income people throughout the Boston/Cambridge area.&nbsp; CLSACC seeks a part-time clinical social worker to work in its Support Program for Refugees and Immigrants. S/he will report to the Clinical Director and Associate Clinical Director</P>
<P>Responsibilities include:</P>
<P>&nbsp;1. Provide psychotherapy and casework services to refugee and immigrant victims of crime.<BR>&nbsp;2. Perform assessments of clients and provide referrals as needed.<BR>&nbsp;3. Ensure that clients are aware of available services including victim compensation. <BR>&nbsp;4. Consult with legal staff about mental health issues of the Center’s immigrant legal clients.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;5. Conduct outreach to community agencies and individuals.<BR>&nbsp;6. <h4>Requirements/Qualifications</h4>
<P>1. LICSW <BR>2. Bicultural/Bilingual highly desirable (especially French and/or Arabic)<BR>3. Experience as a clinical social worker with people with low income and with people from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds.<BR>4. Experience with case management, diagnosis, and psychotherapy.<BR>5. Ability to lead, motivate, encourage and work collaboratively with volunteer mental health professionals and agency staff.<BR>6. Ability to supervise and provide case consultation to social work students and volunteer mental health professionals.<BR>7. Competence in areas of mental illness, substance abuse, psychological trauma, cultural sensitivity and domestic violence.<BR>8. Possess familiarity with local agencies and service providers.<BR></P>

<P>The Clinical Addiction Research and Education Unit at Boston Medical Center is seeking a highly motivated individual to assist with a National Institutes of Health funded clinical research study. A clinic has been established at Boston Medical Center as part of a research study to evaluate ways to deliver the highest quality of care for people with drug and alcohol dependence. The clinic implements a comprehensive disease management approach to caring for patients with substance dependence.&nbsp; This includes on-site counseling, psychiatric evaluation, medical evaluation, social work evaluation, and referral to other needed treatment services.</P>
<P>The role of the Social Worker involves performing initial evaluations for alcohol and drug dependent patients in a specialized primary care clinic. The role involves both concrete services and counseling.&nbsp; The Social Worker will be available to patients on a walk-in basis, and assist them with referrals to needed social services. Ideal candidate will have experience working with substance abusing populations, counseling experience, very strong organizational and communication skills, and an interest in research.&nbsp; The Social Worker will be trained in Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET) and will offer MET to all patients in the study. Candidates should enjoy working with a challenging and diverse population in an urban hospital setting.</P>
