Overview

professional opportunities for clinical social workers

U.S. demographics have changed dramatically since Simmons opened one of the nation's first schools of social work in 1904; a century later, the demand for skilled clinical social workers, intelligent advocacy, and effective leadership is just as compelling. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, social work is one of the fastest growing professions in the nation, expected to increase for all fields through 2014. In particular, our rapidly growing elderly population and the aging baby boom generation will create a great demand for gerontology social workers. Graduates of Simmons's School of Social Work are among the most prepared and sought-after professionals and are ready to fill the gap.
