Leah Hart Tennen, M.P.H., LICSW

Leah Hart Tennen, M.P.H., LICSW, is the Mikveh Center Director at Mayyim Hayyim Community Mikveh and Education Center and is on the faculty at both the Simmons College School of Social Work and the Boston University School of Social Work. She is also a Child Development instructor and Early Parenting Group facilitator at Isis Parenting. Prior to that, she was the Manager of the Group Mentoring Department and a field instructor at the Big Sister Association of Greater Boston. Leah earned her MSW, with a group work certificate, and M.P.H. degrees from Boston University. In addition to group work, Leah's specific areas of interest include working with adolescent girls, sexual health and sexual decision-making, body image and dating violence. She is currently a Community Based Big Sister, as well as a teacher and clinical consultant for Girls' LEAP. She has been a member of NASW (National Association of Social Workers) and IASWG (International Association for Social Work with Groups) since 2004 and has served on the IASWG-Massachusetts Chapter's Board of Directors since 2007, most recently as Vice President.
