Rebecca Mirick received her M.S.W. from the Boston University School of Social Work. She was awarded her Ph.D. from Simmons SSW in 2011. Her doctoral work focused on engagement of clients within the child welfare system. Her clinical experience is in outpatient mental health, working with children, adolescents and adults. She has also provided outpatient mental health services to preschool programs, Head Start programs, and the Department of Youth Services. Another area where she has focused her work is in suicide prevention. She developed and ran Department of Public Health funded continuing education programs in this area for the Riverside Trauma Center and has continued her suicide prevention work on a DPH grant at Simmons. In addition, she is a licensed clinician for Riverside Community Care and is engaged in program evaluation work for the Riverside Trauma Center.
