Susan Brostrup-Jensen has been a strong advocate working to end intimate partner violence across all populations since receiving her M.S.W. from University of Pennsylvania in 1992. She has worked in a community-based domestic violence and sexual assault program, providing and strengthening services to survivors and their children. Currently, she is working with the faith community in the Blackstone Valley to raise awareness and build collaborations between the domestic violence service providers, other social service providers, and the larger community. Ms. Jensen is a dissertating student at Simmons SSW exploring the role of perceived resource loss and gain in the ways women manage while in abusive relationships.
Ms. Jensen also has research experience working on a longitudinal, three-city, multi-method study looking at the impact of Welfare Reform on low-income families. Her particular focus within this study was following families whose child(ren) have a disability. She has taught at Simmons SSW and Regis College’s BSW program.
