Adjunct Faculty

Richard Grumbach, M.S.W., LICSW

Richard Grumbach joined the adjunct faculty at Simmons SSW to develop a course in advanced clinical group work in 2002. He worked at Family Services of Greater Boston in the late 1970s and has had a majority of his practice at Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates for the last twenty five years. In addition to the advanced clinical group work course, he has also taught CBT/DBT at Simmons SSW as well as for behavioral health professionals outside of Simmons.

Mr. Grumbach received his M.S.W. from the Hunter College School of Social Work in 1976. His clinical experience includes work with children and adults, using both individual and group modalities. His clinical groups have followed both long and short term formats, with psychodynamic, CBT or psycho-educational orientations. His clinical specialties include CBT/DBT and psychotherapy for anxiety and depression, treatment of addictions, sexual functioning disorders and GLBT concerns.
