A leading center for innovative teaching, research and discourse on women, leadership and management, the School of Management (SOM) offers a demanding management education to women MBA and undergraduate students as well as a newly launched Health Care MBA and a Master of Science in Management. The SOM is also a leading-edge provider of executive education, consulting services, and applied research to senior management in business, government, and the nonprofit sector.
The School of Management has an entrepreneurial, collaborative learning environment for people who want to accomplish something meaningful for their organizations, communities, and themselves.
The School of Management offers the following programs:
The MBA Program helps students master the essentials of strategy, finance, marketing, economics, entrepreneurship, operations, quantitative analysis and organizational behavior. Just as important, our students learn more effective ways to lead, manage, and influence people. Simmons graduates develop a range of competencies employers covet: mental agility, strategic thinking and analytic ability plus superior leadership, communication and team-building skills.
The Simmons Health Care MBA educates women and men for leadership success in today's complex and competitive health care industry. Offering a greater combination of depth in health care and management than a traditional MBA or advanced health care degree alone, it combines the strengths of our nationally recognized MBA program with the expertise of our health care faculty and an extensive health care curriculum.
Simmons is pleased to introduce our NEW Masters of Science in Management (MSM) programs this fall! The MSM degree is designed for individuals who aspire to positions in management and leadership. The program challenges students with a solid business foundation and the opportunity to develop management skills for a variety of sectors.
The MBA/ M.S.W. is a dual degree option for those interested in earning both an MBA from the Simmons School of Management and an MSW from the Simmons School of Social Work for clinical practice, leadership, and administration in nonprofit organizations.
Designed in response to the rapidly changing workplace and an increasing corporate effort to broaden definitions of diversity, this program allows students to develop both a strong theoretical foundation and professional management and leadership skills, with opportunities to specialize in diversity awareness, gender equality, and inclusive communication strategies in the workplace.
Our Executive Education programs give women the knowledge, skills, and abilities to become organizational leaders, learning from faculty experts in organizational behavior and in gender and organizational effectiveness. Our clients often credit their Simmons experience with job and career advancement.
The Undergraduate Management program offers four majors: management, marketing, retail management and finance, all sharing a common set of prerequisites and required core courses. Students are also encouraged to double major or minor with other Simmons programs such as economics, communications, arts administration or computer science.
