Results of Silverman Business Plan Semi Finals!
On October 4, 2007 the SOM was abuzz as a total of twelve semi finalists presented their plans to the semi finals’ judges, comprised of 18 successful entrepreneurs and others involved in the entrepreneurial economy. Semi Finalists consisted of alumnae (class of 1993 to class of 2007) and 1 current student, and came from as far as Colorado, Maine and Nevada.
Three contestants were selected to present business ideas at the event Finals, which take place on Friday, October 12, 2007, 4-7:30pm. The finalists are competing for a total prize basket valued at over $20,000, including $10,000 in cash plus valuable in-kind prizes such as legal services, logo development and brand coaching. Jennifer Christian-Murtie ‘07 Yadumu, LLC Yadumu, meaning ‘long life” in Swahili, is a consulting company whose aim is to provide tourism businesses operating in the African ecotourism industry with advice on environmental, tourism and economic/business development practices that will enhance the financial benefits for the business. This business to business consulting model will be accomplished through a network of experienced professionals who have worked in the tourism, environmental, and economic development fields.
Beth Doherty Evers ‘07 Negotiating Successful Collaboration NSC is a negotiation consulting business offering training and coaching services. Our three target markets are higher education, health care, and small businesses.
