Discussions of gender in the workplace often compare the experiences of women and men, focusing on women’s inadequacies and deficits. Author Laura Morgan Roberts will give a presentation that will offer a new, strength-based lens for examining gender and diversity in organizations. The discussion will be drawn from research on how white women and women of color cultivate a deeper understanding of their “best-self” and engage their strengths to mobilize change, build relationships, and persist in the face of obstacles.
