"Breaking through the glass ceiling" Globe article features Professor Kolb
Simmons School of Management was featured in the September 17 Boston Sunday Globe article, “Breaking through the glass ceiling,” which looks at the recent shift in numbers of women taking up management positions. The article said, “Simmons College offers an MBA program at the School of Management (SOM) considered to be a model program for women who have busy lives. Dr. Deborah Kolb, the SOM’s Deloitte Ellen Gabriel Professor for Women and Leadership is clear about the school’s impact in business. ‘The SOM has firmly established itself and THE center for women, leadership and management.’ Kolb also co-founded the SOM’s Center for Gender in Organizations. She explains, ‘Industry leaders that are committed to moving women ahead in their organizations partner with us to assist them in achieving their goals through leadership.’”
SOM alumna Mary Finlay ‘90, Deputy Chief Information Officer at Partners Healthcare System said about Simmons, “The MBA Program at the SOM changes you, intellectually and emotionally. And when you leave, you have the confidence you never dreamed of. And that does wonders for your career.”
