SOM holds panel on Corporate Social Responsibility

On April 10, Simmons SOM hosted a panel discussion titled “Corporate Social Responsibility: Learning from Best Practices.” Panelists featured leaders that have found that social responsibility and success don’t have to be mutually exclusive concepts. Panelists shared their best-practice solutions, and demonstrated how their organizations are incorporating social responsibility into their profit goals. Panelists included: * Maria Gorsuch-Kennedy, Manager, Community Involvement, EMC Corporation, * Amy Hall, Director of Social Consciousness, Eileen Fisher, * Lisa Quiroz, Vice President, Corporate Responsibility, Time Warner, * Patricia Wright, Vice President of Government and Public Affairs and President of the British Petroleum Foundation.

The event integrated the SOM Executive in the Classroom series with the SOM’s commitment to principled leadership. The panel was jointly sponsored by the SOM chapter of Net Impact, a student-led association dedicated to incorporating socially responsible values and practices into the business arena. The SOM Executive in the Classroom series is made possible through the generosity of the SOM Class of 2004.
