Hass to serve as lead on Institute of Internal Auditor's project

Simmons School of Management Associate Dean Susan Hass has been selected as one of three lead principal investigators developing a database for the Institute of Internal Auditor’s (IIA) Global Status of the Internal Auditing Profession: Practices and Competencies Project. The primary objectives of the proposed research which is funded by a $160,000 grant are to (a) develop a descriptive summary of the global practice of internal auditing, (b) provide insight as to how the practice is changing over time, and (c) provide insight into how various country environments affect the practice of internal auditing. Internal auditors representing as many as 99 countries will participate in this study. The lead team, which is based in Boston, will lead the research in the Americas and will coordinate the work done by research teams in Australia and Europe and individual IIA affiliates in Africa and Asia. The results of the research will provide insights to aid internal auditors in understanding the variables that influence the practice of internal auditing around the world.
