Prof. Nelson featured in Boston Herald's Women's Business

In the January 1 Women’s Business article “Programming entrepreneurship for success,” Simmons SOM Elizabeth J. McCandless Professor of Entrepreneurship Teresa Nelson presented her argument that entrepreneurship can be taught and learned in school.

“Going to school won’t make you an entrepreneur, but it can help you clarify your aspirations, understand potential pitfalls, set a reasonable timeline and prepare a set of knock—out financial statements—perhaps particularly if you’re a woman,” says Nelson. Entrepreneurship classes are much more than lectures—good teaching around entrepreneurship is experiential. The process is about integrating ideas, knowledge and practice into your existing mental, emotional, and action registries.
