Professor Mary Shapiro was featured on NECN recently, discussing “How women are coming up with creative ideas to stay on the job while not necessarily reporting to the office.” Professor Shapiro spoke on findings from the SOM/HP survey of 400 professional women taken at the 2006 Simmons Leadership Conference. The survey challenges the idea that women are opting out of work to stay at home with their families. Rather, many professional women are negotiating flexible arrangements such as shortened hours and restricted travel.
