A February 10 article entitled “Sorry, Carly: At HP board’s urging, Fiorina resigns as CEO,” features the SOM Dean defining Fiorina’s resignation as HP’s CEO as a setback to women struggling for top leadership positions in business. The deanacknowledged that “her overthrow ultimately came down to a major business disagreement on HP’s future in a ‘killer industry’ that operates within thin margins and rapid technological changes. What happened to her is what happens to many CEOs in this situation.”
