SOM Alumna Anne Whittredge Featured in Article Honoring Her 19-Year Career as Principal, Broadmeadow School
On May 14, 2008, SOM Alumna Anne Whittredge was featured in The Needham Times' article “Needham Principal to End Daily Tour of Broadmeadow School, Successor Chosen” by Steven Ryan. The article looks at Whittredge's contributions as principal at Broadmeadow School over her 19 year career there. Superintendent Dan Gutekanst praised Whittredge for her work in Needham, saying “There’s no question her focus on literacy, social/emotional and mathematical learning has really been a focus and a highlight of her tenure…She is someone who believes in the power of education to lift a child, regardless of the child’s background.” The partnership with Simmons that Whittredge established is also mentioned, as she helped develop a program that pairs Simmons interns with Broadmeadow teachers.
