Women in Leadership
Educating women for power and leadership is at the core of the SOM’s mission. Thirty years ago, the School of Management was founded by two faculty from Harvard University with the explicit mission of educating women to enter into management and leadership and to play pivotal roles in building and guiding business and nonprofit organizations. That founding vision has grown and flourished in the school’s teaching, research and convening activities.
Today, the SOM is recognized as an authority on women, leadership, and managment, and the school's faculty are widely published in professional journals and invited to speak to various business sectors on the issue of women and leadership. In addition, the dean of the SOM as well as faculty memers are often interviewed by both the business and popular press. Among the newspapers and magazine which have recenlty quoted members of the SOM community are The New York Times, U.S. News and World Report, Wall Street Journal, Boston Globe, USA Today, Christian Science Monitor, CNNMoney, Businessweek.com and Money Magazine.
