Graduate Program
You may want to launch the next high tech phenomenon, or take over your family business. You may be looking to join 250,000 other American women running a business at the $1M revenue mark, or find yourself at a life stage where a part-time, flexible home-based venture will just fit for 3-5 years. Whatever your entrepreneurial career objective, we have options for you at the Simmons School of Management.
There are currently more than 6.2 million women-owned firms in the United States, employing 9.2 million people and generating sales of $1.15 trillion. Women have discovered the success, satisfaction and sense of purpose that are aligned with many of the benefits of being entrepreneurial. At Simmons School of Management (SOM), we've designed our entrepreneurship program specifically for women entrepreneurs to help them turn ideas into innovative and successful new businesses, social ventures or new ventures in existing firms.
Chart your course with expert guidance:
- What is the right start-up opportunity, for you?
- What are investors looking for in funding a venture, and what do you need to know to negotiate with them successfully?
- How can you place yourself in the growing and respected field of social entrepreneurship – business principles applied for social welfare?
- How do community commitment and a personal orientation to principled leadership guide you in developing a “more-than-for-profit” business?
- What knowledge and resources do you need to write a dynamic and useful business plan?
- What happens after the launch? Tracking the high-growth management challenge.
- Ongoing opportunities to learn from guest experts including Entrepreneurs-in-Residence.
- Networking events with successful entrepreneurs, investors, and other members of the entrepreneurial ecosystem (including our annual Leading Women Entrepreneur Speaking Series and Silverman Business Plan Competition).
- Classroom discussion about the challenges women face in funding, leading, networking, and negotiating their careers.
- Participating in a cohort of women who study, achieve, and support one other in the program and after graduation.
