Current Work

The central focus of CGO’s work is on improving organizational effectiveness by strengthening gender equity in the workplace.  Integral to CGO’s approach is the recognition that gender operates with other dimensions of identity, such as race, class, ethnicity, and sexual identity, in shaping organizational systems and practices as well as workers’ experiences—we refer to this as “gender in all its complexities.”  As a reflection of this broad focus on gender, CGO’s current work is organized around four themes:

In all of our areas of work, we address the ways in which deeply embedded cultural assumptions about gender hinder the productivity of individual workers and organizations as a whole, and identify and evaluate strategies for change.
