Press-Telegram writer Dawn Anfuso quotes a study conducted by Simmons SOM and Bright Horizons Family Solutions, stating that 95% of all adults believe life outside of work is just important as—or even more important than—their work, and that there was no gender difference in these responses.

Gender Research Institute Announces New Faculty, Graduate Fellows
The Michelle R. Clayman Institute for Gender Research has announced its faculty and graduate dissertation fellows for 2008-09. Deborah Kolb, the Deloitte Ellen Gabriel Professor of Women and Leadership at the SOM is named for her future collaboration with Associate Professor Debra Meyerson of the Stanford School of Education.

On June 22-24, 2008, SOM faculty member Lynda Moore spoke at the first Arab International Women’s Forum held in the U.S. The conference, entitled 'Partners for Change: Realizing the Potential of Arab Women in the Private and Public Sector,’ was co-sponsored by World Bank.

CGO Director Patricia Deyton Participates in Series of Meetings for Japanese Women Leadership Initiative (JWLI)
Patricia Deyton, CGO Director, traveled to Japan in early May where she joined Simmons College Trustee, Atsuko Fish, for a series of meetings for the Japanese Women Leadership Initiative (JWLI). JWLI, founded by and funded by the Fish Foundation, brings women who are interested in and willing to pursue leadership in the nonprofit sector in Japan to the SOM for an immersion program in nonprofit leadership.
