Finding your Forté

Ever wondered if there was someone out there who could answer all of your questions about business school the moment they popped into your head?

If this sounds like something you'd like, then you must check out the Forté Foundation. It's a fabulous resource for women in business, whether you're hunting for the perfect school for you, searching for a summer internship, or about to graduate and looking for some advice on how to find a mentor. Forté played a huge role in my decision to go to business school and now, almost a year into my program, I still find myself tuning into webinars (our very own Stacy Blake-Beard moderated one just last month!), checking the blogs, and waiting for the newsletter to pop up in my inbox.

Probably the best offering of all, though, is the annual Forté MBA Women's Conference. I was fortunate enough to attend last year's event with several other Forté Fellows from Simmons, and it was phenomenal. Several months before courses even started, I was already learning how to get my voice heard in class discussions, how to craft the perfect elevator pitch, and how to get a leg up on my internship search. For someone as eager to begin her MBA as I was, it was the perfect head start.

This year's conference is in Los Angeles on June 29th and 30th. It features amazing women leaders from Microsoft, AT&T, and more, and is sure to be a truly energizing educational and networking experience. I highly recommend that all Simmons MBAs and pre-MBAs attend!
