Dr. Sawtelle has taught in the Simmons MBA program since its inception, specializing in teaching the applications of microeconomics and macroeconomics to managerial decision-making. Sawtelle also conducts research, focusing her investigations on labor market structures and policies. Currently, she is studying how women’s employment in specific industry sectors responds to changes in key performance variables for the U.S. macroeconomy. Sawtelle is also the founder and program coordinator of the New England Women Economists Association.
