Diversity Management Program : School of Health Sciences : Simmons College

The Certificate in Diversity Management was created and designed through a partnership between Simmons and the Institute for Diversity in Health Care Management of the American Hospital Association.

The content and learning experiences included in this blended program are focused on the practice of diversity management as it relates to health care. Participants will complete a brief online orientation to online learning prior to the first on-site residency; the remaining 12 months of the program include online coursework in classes of 15 or fewer students and two additional three day on-site residencies.

In keeping with the importance of providing evidence-based clinical care, the design of the Certificate in Diversity Management (content and process) incorporates evidence-based management principles and facts.

The Certificate in Diversity Management program at Simmons also includes our Executives in Residence Program, in which participants will have the opportunity to interact with a number of highly respected practitioners with many years of expertise in the management of diversity and disparities in health care. These executives will interact with the participants throughout their course work, sharing their authentic, "real life" perspective and providing "real time" commentary on the participants' discussions in their online courses as well as face -to -face residencies.
