» Application Deadlines

Application deadlines vary by program and by term. Be sure to allow time for official academic transcripts and official test scores to be sent before the deadline dates. For all programs, the applicant will be notified by email of the receipt of the completed application. All materials should be received, not postmarked, by the deadline date- if the date(s) indicated below falls on a week-end or a holiday, the deadline is the end of the next business day.If courses will not be completed by the application deadline date, please send a copy of your student grade report or request that your professor(s) indicate (on letterhead stationery) the grade you will likely earn. Send this information either via post or fax (617-521-3137)to the attention of the Office of Admission.

Applicants for regular admission are urged to file their applications and supporting documents well in advance of the term for which they are applying, in order to ensure proper consideration of their credentials. International students may apply only for September entry. U.S. students may begin in the fall, spring, or summer depending on the program(please see below). All materials should be received, not postmarked, by the deadline. Complete application deadlines for regular admission and for non-degree students who wish to apply for regular admission by program:

Health Care Administration Application Deadlines

• June 1 for fall (September) semester.
• November 1 for spring (January) semester.
• March 1 for summer (May)session.

Nursing Application Deadlines

• The Direct-Entry Program application deadline is Feb 1 for June entry.
• The application deadline for the Master's in nursing program (M.S.)or C.A.G.S. for January entry is November 1.
• The application deadline for the Master's in nursing program (M.S.) and C.A.G.S.(Occupational Health and Oncology)is June 1 for September entry.
• The application deadline for the C.A.G.S. Family Health concentration is March 1 for May entry.

Nutrition Application Deadlines

• The application deadline for the D.P.D. for fall (September) entry is June 1.
• The application deadline for the D.P.D .for spring (January) entry is Nov. 1.
• The application deadline for the D.P.D . for summer (May) entry is Mar. 1.
• The application deadline for the M.S. and/or C.S.N. programs for fall (September) entry is June 1.
• The application deadline for the M.S. and/or C.S.N. programs for spring (January) entry is November 1.
• The application deadline for the M.S. and /or D.P.D. for summer (May) entry is March 1.

Physical Therapy Application Deadlines

For the professional D.P.T. the deadline is December 1 for June entry. Applicants must apply using PTCAS(PT Centralized Application System)Students may apply to Simmons with only two prerequisites outstanding at the time of application.

• The application deadline for fall (September)is June 1.
• The application deadline for spring (January) is Nov.1.
• The application deadline for summer (May) is Mar.1.

Special C.A.G.S.(post-master's) Programs Application Deadline

• The application deadline for fall (September-the only entry term) is June 1 for C.A.G.S. in Clinical Genetics,Occupational Health Nursing ,and Oncology.
• The application deadline for the C.A.G.S. in Health Professions Education program for fall(September) is June 1 and for spring(January) is November 1.

Post-bachelor's certifcates

• The application deadline for the Certifcate in Sports Nutrition(CSN) for fall(September) is June 1 ;for spring(January) is November 1.
• The applcation deadline for the Certificate in Clinical Genetics for fall (September) is June 1. This is the only entry term for this program

Enrollment Deposit Dates

The enrollment deposit dates vary by program. All deposits are non-refundable. For January(Spring) 2009 entry for all programs, the deposit is due ecember 12, 2008.

The enrollment deposits must be received in the Office of Admission at the School for Health Studies by the above dates. The designated date is not the postmark date. No extensions to the enrollment deposit date can be granted. Late or incomplete applicants will not be considered for the limited competitive merit scholarships. Official transcripts verifying proof of completion of all prerequisites and receipt of a bachelor's or master's degree will be required before enrollment in any program.

International students may apply only for September entry with exceptions of June entry for Direct Entry Nursing and the D.P.T. programs. Due to more strict rules by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Bureau, the application process should commence at least six months in advance of the application deadline date. Please allow ample time for the pace of international postal systems, obtaining visa documents, arrival in the U.S., and transitioning to a new environment. International students will not be allowed to enroll if they arrive after the official start of the term. For more information, please see our international students section.
