» Certificate in Health Care ManagementThe Certificate in Health Care Management is designed for current students and graduates of the Simmons School of Management (SOM) and MBA graduates from an AACSB-accredited institution who are interested in the health care industry. Students can complete this certificate by taking a combination of courses, projects and a practical experience in a local health care organization. Program ObjectivesThe promise of more opportunities for women in the executive level of health care management provides an opportunity for a partnership between the School of Management and the School of Health Sciences. By offering students the chance to augment their MBA program with additional study in health care management, Simmons can extend its mission by building a cadre of women with management skills to be leaders in health care management. Through a combination of coursework and experiential education, students will enhance their knowledge base by working with faculty, advisors, students and health care related organizations in the community to grow and develop their management skills in the field. Participating in individual and group projects, students will utilize their creativity and experience the challenges in the execution of management ideas when working in health related organizations. Upon completion of this academic program, students will receive a Certificate in Health Care Administration, a post-master's credential.
