Faculty News Assistant Professor of Physical Therapy Anne Marie Dupre ’84 taught a two-week service learning course in Nicaragua with physical therapy students as well as nursing faculty and students. Dupre also gave a poster presentation on “International Physical Therapy Community Service: Student Experiences in Nicaragua” with Physical Therapy Professor Shelley Goodgold, Teressa Brown ‘04HS, and Sarah Pullen ‘04HS at the American Physical Therapy Association’s (APTA) Combined Sections Meeting in February in Nashville, TN. Goodgold gave two other poster presentations at the APTA meeting. She presented “Effectiveness of School-based Health Promotion Programs on Participation in Physical Activity” with Whitney Osborn ‘04HS and Sylvia Soroka ‘04HS; and “School-based Backpack Health Promotion Program: One-year Follow-up Evaluation” with Melissa Blackman ‘05HS. Professor Diane Jette ’72 gave a platform presentation on “Therapy Intensity and Outcomes of Rehabilitation in Skilled Nursing Facilities.” Summaries of two studies by Associate Professor of Graduate Physical Therapy Shelley Goodgold were published in the April-June 2003 issue of Pediatric Physical Therapy magazine. |
